Health & Lifestyle Coaching
Do you have a lifestyle habit that you just can’t seem to manage consistently? Then you are certainly not alone! Whether it’s giving up smoking, spending less time on the sofa, learning to manage your food and nutrition, or getting to the bottom of a perplexing health issue, most people could benefit from making healthy changes. This is where lifestyle coaching is used.
Having worked in NHS specialist weight management assisting people with obesity-related problems, assisted with smoking cessation, attained a degree in health, nutrition and exercise, and having overcome my own health challenges, I know how hard it is to navigate the minefield of diet, exercise and healthy behaviours.
The overall goal of lifestyle / health coaching is to establish your strengths, barriers and personal preferences in order to find a way of caring for your health that works for you almost effortlessly – and continues to work. The approach I teach for food and ‘diet’ is called Intuitive Eating.
There is actually no ‘diet’ involved, instead we will learn tune into and respect your own body and its regulatory signals and respond in a way that feels ‘right’. So, whether the challenge is nutrition, eating behaviour, physical activity, exercise, or something else entirely, you will develop the capacity to do it intuitively and, moreover, enjoy the new behaviour.
